A Day at the Pumpkin Patch
Last week I accompanied Rebekah on her class field trip to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard. She got to pick a bag of apples and pick out her own pumpkin from the field. It was a fun day.

The hay ride was an experience. All of the kids had to have a parent accompany them, and some parents brought siblings. To make room on the hayride the kids sat on the parents' laps. On the way there we were packed in like sardines. On the way back we were packed in like sardines and everyone had a bag of apples and a pumpkin! Some people had two or three pumpkins - and bags of apples - one for each kid! I was REALLY glad I didn't have Alex with me! (Thanks Mom!)

It's a GIRL!!!
We had our ultrasound today and found out we are having a baby girl! The name is yet to be determined. We will keep you posted! Rebekah is so excited to be having a baby sister. She talked about it all the way home in the car today. My heart melted when I heard her say "I will hold my baby sister until she falls asleep."

Gymnastics!
I think I mentioned in a previous post that Rebekah is taking gymnastics. She goes every Friday for 45 mintues. She seems to really love it and I love it for her. Her "coach" is really good with the kids and she is actually LEARNING things and not just playing around. So here are a few pictures of last week's class. Sorry that they are a little far away and are mostly of her rear-end but I had to go with what I could do from the observation area!
The little trampoline is the favorite activity in the circut and usually causes a major "traffic jam"!
A good landing!

A good landing! This is a video of Rebekah on the balance beam. I tried to cut it down to the minumum, but I want to share it because I am so proud! She made it about 2/3 of the way across and fell off, she got back on, but kept falling off (I cut some of that out) but she continued getting back on and was determined to get all the way to the other side.

A visit from Grandma and Grandpa!
We had a surprise visit from my parents this weekend. It was a short visit but since they are only 5 hours away in Flagstaff we will be seeing them again in a month or so. It's nice having them closer for a while!
Playing Uno. (Notice Alex munching on chips while we played!)Ok, the following happened about a week ago. Many nights after Alex goes to bed Rebekah plays with her makeup. This time she decided Daddy needed makeup too.

Sleepy time
Just a few fun pictures to share. This particular day Rebekah told Daddy she wanted to sleep in her toybox - so he said SURE! Hey whatever works! We were just glad she took a nap!

I wasn't feeling too good that day and was laying on the couch most of the day - Alex decided he needed to lay down with Mommy - so a photo opportunity was born.

Happy Birthday to Me!
Well, today is my birthday. 33 - not too exciting, but another year nonetheless. I thought I would take a little trip down memory lane and share one of my favorite pictures of my childhood. This is me and my brother Jim - the date printed on the back of the picture says Aug '77 so just before I turned 3. This was taken on the back porch of the big farm house we lived in until 1983 when we moved into town. This picture brings back SO MANY memories of childhood. We had a huge yard and Jim and I would play outside all day (or so it seemed to me!).

We actually celebrated my birthday on Sunday after church. Rebekah was QUITE excited that MOMMY got a birthday cake and blew out candles. Niether one sang along with Bryan when he sang Happy Birthday, but as the cake was being eaten, many renditions came out. Here are a couple: "Happy Birthday for Mommy: Gothic Arrangement" by Rebekah and "Birthday Mommy" by Alex.
