On Eagles' Wings: A day at the fair

The Pima county fair is in town - we took advantage of "Military Appreciation Day" yesterday and had a great time with the kids. We went last year and had a great time so this was something Bryan and I were really looking forward to this year. My only concern was that Alex wouldn't be tall enough to ride the rides with Rebekah - thankfully he JUST made the 36 inch mark that was required!

The giant slide was our first stop. Bryan said Rebekah was ready to go and almost didn't even wait for him. The first couple of bumps took Alex by surprise - you can see the uncertain look on his face (click on picture to enlarge) but by then end he was having fun!

The ferris wheel was the only ride we were able to go on as an ENTIRE family! Emma slept through the whole thing - she slept all afternoon in fact!

The merry go round was a big hit - and Alex did NOT like Mommy resting my hand on the back of his horse he wanted to ride "by myself!"

I was nursing Emma during the elephant ride - so I missed out on this one - Daddy did good with the pictures though!

Bryan said they got an extra long ride because the elephant had to stop and "do business" twice!

This was probably the hit of the day. Alex and Rebekah have been watching the 1985 TV version of Alice in Wonderland. There is a monster called the "Jabberwoky" in it that looks like a dragon - so I'm not sure if Daddy gave them the idea or if they decided for themselves that they were riding the Jabberwoky. In the above picture you can see they are looking at each other screaming their heads off - Bryan said they were trying to see who could scream louder. Bryan told Rebekah early on it was ok to scream on the rides and she took full advantage of screaming - and Alex followed suit as is typical of him. We have video of this ride and other things that I will try to have at the end of this post.
