We are officially homeowners!

As of 4:00 today we are offical homeowners! It has been a long time in coming, but I think it is worth the wait! Movers come tomorrow bright and early. We will spend the next few days unpacking and getting everything moved from our apartment and then Friday we are off to South Carloina for a much anticipated VACATION. I'm not sure if I will get any posts in while we are gone, but I will have lots to share once we get back! This will probably be it for this week however.

I uploaded a few pictures I took this week that I thought would be fun to share.

The Shumways in front of their new home! Yippee!

Not even a CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHIP cookie could keep Alex awake!

ZONKED!!!

We're ready to start packing Mommy!

Shrek the Third...

Bryan has started doing special "Daddy/Rebekah time" with Rebekah as a motivator for her to take naps. The nap thing is still kind of on and off, but she has fun with her Daddy. So far they have done things such as go play at McDonalds, Putt Putt and illustrated in the picture above, went to Shrek the Third. Rebekah's first real movie. The experience was exciting for her, however, she didn't really get it - and it was a little long. I think we will stick to Dora and Diego for now! It was a fun time with Daddy nonetheless!

This one's for Aunt Ree Ree

This post is dedicated to Bryan's sister Suzanne or "Aunt Ree Ree" to Alex and Rebekah; who is a HUGE (putting it mildly) Wizard of Oz fan.

Yes they watched the whole thing!

Tucson Zoo

We took a trip to the Tucson zoo a couple of weekends ago. We had a special treet of seeing a peacock show off his feathers right out in the middle of the walkway! Bryan wanted Rebekah in the picture, but Rebekah wasn't about to get ANY CLOSER!

At 10:00 every day they have a "animal encounter" where you can feed the giraffes.

Rebekah loved it!

Alex wasn't too sure about that big sticky black tounge wrapping around his hand to get the treat!

By the way, you can click on any of the pictures to see them larger.

Rebekah's New House

It is interesting to think what is going on in the mind of Rebekah about this whole "new house" thing. First we move into the Swiss Hotel in Quito for two weeks, then we were in the TLF for about a month. Now we are in our apartment and we keep going to look at "our house" every week. She seems to understand that we will be living in that house one day. She knows which room is hers, which one is Alex's and which one is Mommy's and Daddy's. She realizes we don't have all of the things that we had in Ecuador. We tell her it will come when we move into our new house. Whenever we mention the new house she then exclaims "Then I see my bike and my stroller!" She then usually goes on and on about her bike, how she is a big girl and can ride it "all my byself" (not a typo, that's how Rebekah says it!) So in honor of the hallowed bike and stroller here are a couple of pictures of Rebekah enjoying both.

Kitchen, Start to Finish!

Well, we closed on our house today! My favorite room is the kitchen - I CAN'T WAIT to get my kitchen stuff unpacked! I thought it would be fun to do a slide show of the kitchen from start to finish - it would have been REALLY cool if I would have taken all of the pictures from the same angle - but that would have required thinking ahead!

Our Little Patriot

It was Memorial Day. We had the T.V. on one of the major networks when they were showing the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. The National Anthem started playing and Alex immediately stopped what he was doing and stood perfectly still throughout the song and the rest of the ceremony.
